  2. White House launches website to excoriate media for ‘biased’ stories

Guardian: The White House rolled out a new section of its official website on Friday that publicly criticizes and catalogs media organizations and journalists it claims have distorted coverage.

At the top of the page, the text reads: “Misleading. Biased. Exposed.” The feature names the Boston Globe, CBS News and the Independent as “media offenders of the week”, accusing them of inaccurately portraying Trump’s remarks about six Democratic lawmakers who released of video encouraging military members to not follow illegal orders. -- nordy

  3. The titration sleep study is done at last. No results yet. My plans for a celebratory restaurant dinner were dished by predictions of snow for the afternoon and evening. Modest amounts but more than I think I could deal with.

    1. I hope you will celebrate yet!
Does it feel strange to be the subject of a sleep study? I have difficulty sleeping anywhere but home the first night there, so I think I'd fail ANY sleep study anywhere.
Got ONE hour of sleep overnight, and that only because I bowed out of a late morning meeting. Slept 9:30-10:30am only. So strange as I slept 8 hours the night before! 🤷🏻‍♀️

    2. WOW, listener! One hour of sleep, and that in the morning. I don't know whether you should see a sleep specialist or if a sleep study would be in order if you did.

The sleep study not only was in an unfamiliar room and bed but involved being attached to a whole bunch of electrodes. For me it also involved an atypical sleep period and a mask with positive pressure breathing. I got used to the mask after a while. I first needed to pee after three hours and wasn't aware I had slept al all but was told I had. Another four hours and I was definitely asleep.

    3. Well, typically a sleep study is to check for sleep apnea and possibly be fitted for a CPAP machine. But as I have enlarged turbinates (in the nose) it would be dsngerous to use a CPAP mask. I need to get the swelling down. Typically, when I can use Afrin nasal pump mist (which may only be used a few days per month) it constricts the blood vessels in the nose, I can breathe freely and sleep great. So I just seem to have swollen turbinates, not an issue with my breathing pattern.

    4. I was thinking there might be other types of sleep studies, but apparently not. I remembered your problem with the turbinates but not that the treatment could only be used a few days a month.

    5. Oh! Perhaps there are other types. Hadn’t thought of that as I’ve never heard one spoken of.

  4. Question: When you have ever opened an Advent Calendar, do you start with Door #1 or Door #24?
I have always opened Door #1 first, especially as some Advent Calendars save a big picture for Door #24.
But Youngest and his dear Spouse open it as a countdown, beginning with #24. Is this a regional thing?
