It's beginning to wear on me that Howard Dean hasn't yet announced that he's running again for Governor of Vermont. We are in trouble if we keep Phil Scott. He is getting cocky with veto power and doesn't work well with our Legislature. Dean was always good at listening to both sides of the aisle. He was well respected for it. Mind you, the Republicans were rather respectful as well. I'd like to see that return.
Alan, Howard Dean isn't in the Senate. Vermont has Bernie Sanders and Peter Welch. Peter was previously our Representative in Congress (just like Bernie before him). Peter won Pat Leahy's former seat.
Cat, I don't know what the holdup is. The best I can come up with is maybe he is taking a breather before announcing because there will definitely be no breather once he does announce.
We just returned from our morning walk. Today I completed my new series of stretching exercises before setting out, and could walk the entire 2km with no significant pain, although I was picking my feet up better earlier on than toward the end. Slow but definite progress. We shall attack *some* weeds in the front yard this afternoon, and I mean to use the line trimmer along most of the east side of our lot, within the fence. It seems slightly cooler and breezier this morning than yesterday [quick check: predicted high 91F--about like yesterday and tomorrow]. ----Alan

So did I. What's the holdup?
DeleteI read somewhere that he has not discovered someone to satisfactorily replace him in the Senate.
