I keep looking at photos of that bridge that collapsed in Baltimore. I have never seen such a truss before; it looks to me like significant damage anywhere would cause the whole thing to collapse. ----Alan
The snow you see out front there is mostly gone now. It's melting off fairly quickly now that we're hitting low 50's by day. No weeds to contend with yet, at least. But the bulbs are sprouting nicely! Crocuses are in bloom.
I just read the Wikipedia page on Josephus Daniels [Click]. What a remarkably forward thinking man! At the same time, what a despicable, vial excuse for a human being! How could anyone function with two such diametrically opposed sets of traits?
Good question; I have no good answer. Consider that the New Deal was notably racist and ethnocentric; FDR was no angel. Then again, without support of racist members of Congress there would have been no New Deal for anyone. ----Alan
Today I sent a card to puddle at the Nursing and Rehab Center where she is now in Maryland. I called the Hyattsville site and they were so good to give me her room number, which is 89A...should you wish to do the same. I have already given enough information here for you to google the name of the facility. But let me know if you'd like me to send it to you via email. Be advised, they have her name as Justin Li, because that is her first name but she goes by her middle name of Julie. So I wrote her full name along with room number.
