There were tornadoes in the area but none particularly near here. Thunder and lightning while I was walking to the restaurant. Again as I left. A few drops started to fall before I'd gone a block and it was raining heavily before I got home.
I was looking at the weather forecast, and they say California is beginning to be hit by a "monster" storm with up to twelve feet of snow. Down here they are predicting temperatures decreasing into the high 50's and then rising; half an inch of rain tomorrow and also on the day after. Twelve feet of snow in the mountains is OK for us; the river is running about a foot below its maximum of last year; they have been making room in the reservoirs. ----Alan
5PM and just back from shopping. The sky was clear at midday; now there are small low-hanging cumulus clouds, above them a mackerel sky, mares' tails just barely beginning to form, and a steady breeze out of the south. Could rain, all right. ---Alan

If he is going to have a debate with Joe Biden, maybe they could be in booths that rise out of the stage when it is time for a question, and then descend into the stage when the time to answer is up. ----Alan
Folks! If you can possibly find this past Monday's Daily Show episode, please please make time to watch it. Jon Stewart did a fabulous job of describing the issues in the Israel-Hamas war. I so appreciate Jon, as a Jew, pointing out that what Israel is doing is making more Hamases. He also had, as guests, two American journalists ~ an Arab and a Jew ~ who have been friends for 10 years, though they take completely different views on the situation in the Middle East. Impressive.
Thinking of you, W.A.!
ReplyDeleteDid any tornadoes materialise?

"A mackerel sky" is one of my favourite weather phrases.

Well, he certainly doesn't speak any discernable language.
DeleteIt seems to me that TFG speaks Senile, but granted that is not a language per se.

DT speaks Snide, disjointed Snide.
DeleteAnd YES to having him descend into the stage when he needs to stop talking.
