  4. The US Gov't is giving out free Covid tests again. Each household gets 4; however, if you haven't ordered any since before September 25th, you can order a second batch of 4. Just go through the process and at the end it will tell you whether you are eligible for four more, and there's a place to click. It's pretty easy.

  5. Just doing some black Friday shopping. It occurs to me that the day of one grocery store time is headed our way: AMAZON!! THAT'S ALL, NO MORE. . . .

    1. E.g., Nancy was shopping a Walmart, looking for soda crackers AKA saltines for me. No go, none, even with assistance. Amazon, $3. Company's former name included in the listing, but not on the box. Good crackers.

    2. That’s odd. Dad buys Saltines at one of our local supermarket chains all the time.

    3. She called the complaint line when she got home, who said they DO have them, but I promise the ones she was directed to were NOT soda crackers. . . . big.hard.tasteless.round. . .

    4. No problem finding saltines here, although there are many similar but fancier products. Those big, hard, tasteless, round jobs sound like ship's biscuit-- which I understand is still popular (in a slightly modernized version) in Hawaii.

    5. AKA "hardtack," "pilot bread" or "pilot crackers," available online, so one can see photos of the packaging. Definitely a different critter from saltines. Allegedly popular in Alaska, and carried at Walmart as well as Costco. Sounds like the Walmart worker was culturally deprived.

    6. NANCY MUTTERED UNDER HER BREATH AS SHE WAS LEAVING "Your mother would know. . . . " I'd say that culturally deprived was an overall description of a Walmart worker, LOL!!!

    7. This reminds me of Sunshine Golden Raisin Biscuits, which were discontinued by Keebler when they bought Sunshine. (I have boycotted Keebler ever since.) Jocularly known as "fly crackers" or "fly cemeteries," they are still available from England via Amazon under the original name of "Garibaldis" (made and named in honor of the visit of the Italian independence leader when he visited England). They are a little expensive, but I think I can probably afford some for a personal Christmas present. One can also buy Hydrox cookies online, but I have balked at the price I saw. [Historical note: Oreos are a knock-off of Hydrox cookies; Oreos are made with lard, and Hydrox are not. Or at least that was one of the original differences. I once had some Hydrox cookies and thought they tasted better than Oreos.

    8. I've never shopped at a Walmart, but we have Saltines at every grocery store.

    1. My favourite comment under the video:
"This ruling is embarrassing, corrupt and pathetic! This judge labeled the ex-presiden an insurrectionist, and turns around and actually provides aid to him with her decision. Maybe she should not serve in her office as a judge."
