Time to reverse your ceiling fan
In the summer, your ceiling fan keeps you cool by pushing cooler air downwards with its counterclockwise spin. Now that Fall is here, reverse the blades so that, by spinning clockwise, they send the rising warm air back down where it can do you some good.
Can it truly be that there are not a few traditional moderate good-government Republicans in the House who would vote for Hakeem Jeffries in order to return the House to functional order? Surely there are some in marginal seats, some like Leon Panetta, who could do more for their constituents as independents or Democrats?

In a way, Congress is in the same pickle as the DOJ. Both have acquired authorities for which there is no legal basis. The founders warned against factions and yet the parties have finagled for themselves the organization and operational protocols which allow them to wield power over each other. The DOJ did it by adding executive and judicial functions to its ministerial role. The prospect of giving up power is unwelcome.
DeleteThe strategy of sacking all the U.S. attorneys when a new executive takes over is not really consistent with the non-partisan claim. Never mind that the conservative agenda is really outdated. They've got nothing except contrariness.
On an other matter. I think it is outrageous that the RNC condition support for candidates on their ability to collect $150,000 on their own. The DNC may be no better, if you believe Beto's rendition of find raisin scheduling.

DeleteGood luck. When I tried it while wearing a shoe after walking today, the exercise seemed to be more effective than when I was just wearing socks, but with socks still seemed to have helped-- I was picking up my feet better, not scuffing their sole as I had been doing for some time

I got my COVID shot today at Walgreen's and was shocked to discover that Walgreen's is no longer completing the vaccination card.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah. The lady who did mine said they're phasing out the cards. She did fill out my card when I asked, but she seemed to think doing so was silly.
DeleteMiyoko got her vaccination at the hospital vaccination clinic today, and was told the CDC had discontinued the cards. We remain incredulous about how rare people wearing masks have become.
