  1. ⚠️Because we haven't had enough weather to deal with.🙄

    1. I don't like the idea large hail. Much less the actuality.

  2. On the Plus side:

Our Maverick pickup truck got repaired today!!
We'd been waiting for parts since February, and it had been out of inspection since the end of March.
And because it took them three days to do the repair, after saying it would take one day, they gave us a free oil change.
Best of all, it's now inspected through July of 2024!

(Now, let's just hope that "large hail" doesn't find it, eh?)

    1. Oak Park had a toronado warning but nothing more than rain. The one confirmed touchdown was in the Burr Ridge/Cicero area, which I would guess was 4-5 miles south of her. There wa also extreme weather damage, not confirmed as a touchdown, near O'Hare. That's about a dozen miles NW.

    4. What listener said. I remember seeing photos of the tornado hitting (and not damaging) the Ferris Wheel at the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

  4. Reported high temperature here was 98F; now (5:45PM) starting down (97F). Breeze was stronger than yesterday when we were pulling weeds in the back yard mid-afternoon, which was nice. Ten-day weather forecast 105F, 110, 113, 110, 108, 104, 104, 104, 105. We have a selection of frozen treats on hand. Just put some stuff on the compost heap and noticed a baby squash on the mystery squash plant growing therefrom, but I don't recognize it; it could be of uncertain parentage. I'd better bring in the trash cans.

    1. Current humidity 16%. And there might be more than one squash plant growing from the compost heap--I haven't investigated carefully.

We hit 85°F this afternoon while the humidity was only 62%. It’s currently 67°F with humidity at 93%, after some rather impressive thunderstorms.
