  1. listener--responses to your posts yesterday:

No problem. Our weather prediction is for gradual warming, getting up to 100F about eight or ten days out, but presently it remains quite pleasant here. The river has fallen some more--I'd estimate it's down about four or maybe five feet from its recent maximum.

Nice that PhD Son could attend middle school graduation, albeit remotely. Thinking of the far north, last night I was watching a video about melting ice patches in the Yukon mountains. In an area frequented by caribou during the summer they were finding atlatl darts thousands of years old.

  2. In re House vote to censure Schiff:
“But Schiff, a candidate for the U.S. Senate seat held by Dianne Feinstein, who is retiring, didn’t fight particularly hard against the effort to formally chastise him. He told The Times he initiated no conversations with Republicans in the last week to sway their votes; he’s called the censure a ‘badge of honor’ and has already begun using the free publicity to fuel his Senate campaign.”

They’ve found the debris field of the Titan submersible.
It means there was a catastrophic failure on Sunday and the Titan imploded in about two nanoseconds. Extremely tragic; at least they never knew what hit them.

    1. {listener} Implosion takes two nanoseconds.
It takes four nanoseconds for information to go up your spine to your brain.

    2. Last time I read (two or three hours ago) they said they had found "A" debris field, not "THE" debris field. Will have to investigate further.

    3. Yes, "the" debris field. From The Guardian:

US Coast Guard confirms crew of Titan sub have died after 'catastrophic' event

Rear Adm John Mauger, the First Coast Guard District commander says a remotely operated vehicle from Horizon Arctic discovered the tail cone of the Titan sub approximately 1,600 feet from the bow of the Titanic on the seafloor.

The debris is “consistent with a catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber”, he says.

Upon this determination, we immediately notified the families on behalf of the United States Coast Guard and the entire unified command. I offer my deepest condolences to the families.

  5. Colorado prosecutors charge 6 signature gatherers for unsuccessful Republican congressional candidate [Click] “The gatherers are accused of submitting signatures of dead people and signatures that didn’t match voter files.” Only 1500 signatures are required, and he paid $67,000—— which sounds awfully high to me.
