    2. No doubt I've mentioned before that I've read and enjoyed several of his books.

    3. He is an excellent communicator. I was waiting for his explanation of these early galaxies found by JWST.

    1. That's what they say; I shouldn't be surprised if the judge takes a rather jaundiced view of it. The jury just might hear about it.

  3. Please send thoughts, prayers, good juju, whatever your thing may be, to my dad. He is going in the hospital on April 24 to have a bladder stone removed, exploratory surgery for bladder cancer and, perhaps, a prostate operation. Not too sure of the status of the last.

In any case, he needs all the love and support he can get, being understandably nervous about the whole thing. Worryingly, he has to go off his Coumadin (Warfarin) seven days before surgery with no indication of when he'll be able to go back on it. That seems to be what's worrying him most. The next most troubling thing is that he's been told the prostate surgery is dangerous yet won't necessarily solve the urinary problem.

And on top of everything else, for the past few days he has had congestion and post-nasal drip, to the point that he has trouble sleeping. Apparently, the stuff he's been using (I think it's a spray) mysteriously stopped working. Though he has been slightly better the past couple of days, he is still miserable. Also, we are all concerned that this problem may negatively impact his surgery. When Sis takes him for his pre-op appointment on Tuesday, they'll ask about that.

Bottom line? Please storm the heavens on Dad's behalf.

    2. And that is (except for the stone) evidently *potential* not sure.

    3. Best wishes, of course. We can only hope they don't find cancer. The bladder stone shouldn't be a problem and I've never heard of prostate surgery being particularly dangerous (as distinct from possibly having undesirable side effects). Don't know enough to guess why they're recommending it.
Sounds like you did may be using the same nasal spray I am. Assuming it hasn't run out, I don't know why it would stop working. Unless he actually has a cold.

    4. Thanks, Bill.

At his age,, of course, the undesirable side affects aren't an issue. But he is very firm that his surgeon has told him prostate surgery is very dangerous. *shrug* can't tell you more than that, not having spoken to his surgeon myself.

As to the medicated nasal spray: Come to find out, the nozzle got clogged, so he wasn't getting a full blast. He doesn't seem to have a cold. I certainly hope the solution to the puzzle is as simple as that! He is definitely on the mend. But, Sis is firm about mentioning it at the pre-op.

    5. I strongly suspect that the danger of prostate surgery is a misunderstanding on your father's part. And the plugged spray nozzle is certainly understandable

  4. Judge delays Dominion and Fox News trial until Tuesday [Click] Possible settlement? This story says jury selection is scheduled for the first day, but I am sure a story on Thursday said it had been completed. This story also says opening arguments are scheduled for the first day, which implies that a jury has been selected. I sure hope it doesn’t settle out of court.
