  2. The national debt is a gigantic fraud to disguise the fact that every dollar in circulation is nothing but a certificate of debt, by pretending that the dollars of hoarders which are lent back to the Treasury at interest instead of delivered as revenue are magically transformed into something else.
Imagine that holy water is something else as a result of being blessed.
Shame on people making fun of MAGA for believing fictions.

    3. That would indicate that they voted to indict TFG on Monday, I think.

    4. So I chose the wrong indictment (Atlanta) for the pool; maybe it will be the second!

    6. We don't yet know whether this will be a felony or misdemeanor indictment. From what I know, the felony charge would be hard to prove and having Trump found Not Guilty would be the same sort of political liability the impeachments were. OTOH, The Guardian thinks Trump will seek to delay the trial, which suggests concern about a possible Guilty verdict.

    7. I understand that there are indications of a felony indictment, which would require a second crime; and it is not evident what that second crime would be--but there are choices available. All will be revealed after the indictment is unsealed (after Trump is arrested).

    8. Yes, we've heard that the felony charge will be based on the claim that Trump's labelling he payment to Cohen as "legal expenses" was intended to conceal Cohen's illegal campaign contribution. But among other problems, that requires proof of intent.

  4. CNN: “The legal action against Trump jolts the 2024 presidential campaign into a new phase – where the former president has vowed to keep running in the face of criminal charges.”

    2. Colbert? The mind boggles. Thanks for all the links, listener. As for the witch hunt, how you gonna catch a witch if you don't hunt?
In case you need to refresh your recollection on hunting witches, here is the Dover edition of the Malleus Maleficarum [Click]

P.S.: I have always found Dover to be an excellent source of important reprints.

    5. From Wikipedia:

"In modern times, the [Malleus Maleficarum] has often been viewed as a typical inquisitorial manual, a perception that many historians have refuted. According to Jenny Gibbons:

in the 1970s, when feminist and Neo-Pagan authors turned their attention to the witch trials, the Malleus Maleficarum (Hammer of Witches) was the only manual readily available in translation. Authors naively assumed that the book painted an accurate picture of how the Inquisition tried witches. Heinrich Kramer, the text's demented author, was held up as a typical inquisitor. His rather stunning sexual preoccupations were presented as the Church's "official" position on witchcraft. Actually the Inquisition immediately rejected the legal procedures Kramer recommended and censured the inquisitor himself just a few years after the Malleus was published. Secular courts, not inquisitorial ones, resorted to the Malleus."
