Good-Bye March!

There was 3 feet of snow in front of the porch (where it was piled from shoveling
snow off the bricks), but it's time for bulbs to emerge,
so I shoveled a lot of it off. Upper forties and rain should lessen the rest.

  1. Bill-- here is a place where the question comes up of what offense the Manhattan DA will add to the hush money charge to make it add up to a felony:

    3. It appears that all of these links are videos. I'm sorry, but I simply don't have the patience to video. I've been a print person all my life.

  2. California police union executive charged with attempting to import opioids [Click] “Many Americans incorrectly believe that most fentanyl is being smuggled into the United States by migrants in unauthorized border crossings, a talking point of Republican politicians like Ron DeSantis.” That one sure takes the cake.

    1. I've never nderstood why fentanyl has to be imported. Should be easy enough to make here. I happen to know that it is one the the things involved in euthanasia of research lab animals.

    2. For illicit dealers in opiates the profits and ease of distribution are far greater than for heroin. Illicit labs in China manufacture custom variants for very economical prices.

Of course, a gag order might turn that around. 😆

    1. OOPS! "1935" should read "2035". Not sure if it was a Freudian slip on my part, or computerized auto-incorrect.

  6. The Trump Indictment Is Bad News for Ron DeSantis [Click] Also shows that a Harvard School of Law degree doesn’t count for much, and that DeSantis didn’t learn his 8th Grade Civics lessons.

  7. Two news notes via The Guardian:

Donald Trump’s arraignment will happen on Tuesday afternoon, New York court officials confirmed, according to the Associated Press

Broadcaster Piers Morgan says Stormy Daniels, the adult film actor who is thought to be at the center of the criminal charges filed in Manhattan against Donald Trump, has postponed their interview due to unspecified “security issues”

  8. Beautiful day today, puffy white clouds in a blue sky, with a barely perceptible breeze and warmer. (It was a mistake to wear a flannel shirt when we went for our walk this afternoon.) As the day progressed we could see the snow on the mountain tops better and better.

We had some snow today, it collected, then melted…except in the shadow of the house!

  10. Here’s a pretty good article about the Lake Tulare Basin flooding, south of here. [Click] On the map look north to find the big dot locating Fresno. There is a highway going north of there across a river (the San Joaquin), and another going northwest across the same river. Our house is about two thirds of the way (going west) between those two river crossings, overlooking the river.
