Pressure mounts on Biden to break his silence as ‘people are freaked out’ over objects shot from sky

    Anybody here freaking out?
I’m content to wait until the remains are gathered and analysed. I don’t honestly expect to be told the whole truth anyway. Of course, it’s not as though my knowing would change anything.
I say, bring on the memes!

    1. Nobody here freaked out. I am of the opinion that the money could be better spent elsewhere.

    2. I think we do need to know what these things are. But that requires recovering and examining the debris. Wide-eyed guesses are not helpful.

And they were close to rescuing her older sister…!

    1. That article is not dependable; and the photo is of a stationary blimp of the sort long stationed at the border with Mexico.

    2. I noticed that the headline said "hot-air baloons," but the article only said "inflatable." And hot air does not seem optimum for the purpose.

  4. Kirby denied that U.S. is doing surveillance with balloons over China. The latest shoot downs are blamed on low altitudes that might interfere with commercial air craft.

    1. I am waiting to hear that at least one of the thingamabobs shot down was powered by kryptonite.

  5. Miyoko just showed me a video of a balloon over Japan resembling the first one shot down by the US-- clearly showing propellers in action! That would explain the disproportionate size of the solar panel array.

  6. I am making progress with resolving my shortness of breath. I am pretty well convinced that it is caused by lack of exercise combined with loss of pulmonary capacity caused by the two bouts of pneumonia I had about 65 years ago. Thinking back, I can recall incidents and symptoms of the same sort of thing from time to time in the past. Appointment with pulmonologist next week. And yesterday I realized that the pains in my hands and forearms caused by workplace repetitive stress injuries are almost completely gone; not 100% resolved, but probably 95% or possibly even more. Nice.

    1. Glad to hear things are getting better. Let us know what the pulmonologist says.

    2. I expect it will either be good news or bad news, and I don't think that the former is mere wishful thinking. My family doctor wasn't sure about it, so has hypothesized the full range of possibilities.

And maybe some snow activities. And that’s about it.” What if those trigger-happy Yanks shot down the Andromedan curling team?

I saw my PCP today. She was able to isolate my hand issue to a tendon or tendon sheath and is sending me to a hand specialist for a cortisone shot. She also believes my wrist will heal. So that's good news. It would be nice to be able to sign my name without pain again. (Not sure what the wait time is to get in to see the specialist.)

    2. I remember when I had a shot of lidocaine and a steroid in my knee; the orthopedist said if it was going to work I would know it very soon, and so it was--maybe 15 minutes, well before I could get back to my workplace. Great stuff, if used properly.
