  2. Good morning. Cleared browser of data and did new log in. Worked great, except first comment vanished in mid-writing.
Happens a lot on FB, too.

    1. I'm afraid that if I clear my cache Blogger won't believe I'm an admin anymore and I won't be able to delete posts when needed, or even be able to use my blog name. I can't get here any other way than one browser on my computer. On every other browser and my iPhone (even on the good browser), Blogger already doesn't recognise me anymore.

  3. There are unconfirmed rumors of the spread of epidemic disease among Russian troops in Ukraine. It certainly wouldn't be surprising given their disorganization and lack of training, and if true I should expect it to get worse during the winter. Among other examples of disease disrupting military operations, I recall the People's Liberation Army's preparations to invade Taiwan being ended by epidemic schistosomiasis.

  4. A Constitutional Dilemma
The legal basis for the government's interference with the unilateral termination of a pregnancy would seem to be derived from the responsibility to "protect" property rights--specifically the male donor's interest in the survival of the sperm. That would account for why neither a coerced deposit nor the male depositor's assent to the premature termination (Herschel Walker paying for clinic care) seem to merit social opprobrium.
Indeed, the inappropriate term "abortion" may be intended to suggest that the denial of female autonomy is the main object of the legislative effort. Regardless of the physical or psychological consequence of impregnation, woman is not permitted to reject the intent of a man. Female autonomy is a threat to "Father knows best" and signals the demise of male hegemony.
The U.S. Constitution provides for only two kinds of rights: property and civil. And civil rights are actually duties and obligations carried Out voluntarily by citizens pursuant to law.
It is because children are property that they are subject to legislative disposition from the moment of conception
Can we conclude that the Constitution is deeply amoral in this regard?
How can this be corrected? By kformally recognizing the human rights of both mother and child.

  5. Seaman Acquitted of Arson in Bonhomme Richard Fire | What Went Wrong & How the Ship Was Lost [Click] Reminds me of the way the Navy tried to pin the explosion in the 16-inch gun turret on the USS Iowa on a member of the gun crew. As memory serves me, the Navy did not at that time have anyone qualified under their own standarss to train crew members in the operation of such big guns.

    2. It would seem appropriate to me that they should be fired for cause, and investigated for some sorts of felonies.

  7. Thanks for the links and interesting conversation!

We had an interesting day for weather: clouds, rain, sun, thunderstorm then sunset. LOL.

Tomorrow morning we go for our fu shots. It'll be our first time getting the "Senior dose" which is four times stronger than the usual dose. So, I made some soups and we'll see if we end up with sore arms and headaches or what. Have any of you taken the Senior dose? If so, how'd you fare?

    1. Not exactly. Back in 1959 the army gave me a triple-strength shot. Sort of under the weather the next day, but of course the army didn't care.

    2. We have been getting the senior dose for several years; maybe a bit more lethargy for a day--nothing much.
