  1. Sorry I was AWOL on Monday ... I had a peer meeting, then we made a big push and got the split rail fence project done! We decided we really needed to, because a neighbour is having two huge Poplars removed today (Tuesday), close to where we've been workin; so we knew we couldn't be working out there while that's happening. Will catch up after I sleep and have two guidance meetings.

    1. Okay...I couldn't not look. And got such a laugh because I *had* been on the blog on Monday! Just not Monday evening. Sure is a long day when it feels like it's been two days ago. 🤣

  2. [Warning: Fog of war.] There are more and more reports (many evidently from intercepted Russian soldiers' telephone calls and videos) that Russian forces on the north bank of the Dnieper River in eastern Kherson Oblast have panicked and are fleeing from the Ukrainian advance, even bypassing previously prepared lines of defense. Also that they are running out of ammunition. There are other unverified but credible reports that Ukrainian forces are receiving winter uniforms and other supplies, and that the Ukrainians have fully developed plans for continuing actions through the winter. In the meantime, Russian troops have not even received winter uniforms, although they are evidently very well supplied with vodka.

    1. Well now, that's excellent news! Any chance we'd end up with a concerning wax worm infestation? Does it have a natural predator?

    2. I gather that the idea is to manufacture bulk amounts of the best waxworm enzyme rather than grow or release herds of waxworms. I am still impressed by the method of using supercritical steam to decompose plastic into its constituents and then separate them by distillation--no need to separate the various types of plastics, or to clean them. I think it is past the demonstration plant size, and one or two commercial--sized plants are under construction. And in some places (India is the most notable example) mixed plastics are being shredded and mixed into asphalt for roadways that are more durable.
