Did anyone else make popcorn for the viewing? We have popcorn and I made a big fancy pot of tea. Root*Center*Son texted that he made popcorn, even before I thought to ask. LOL! (He comes by it honestly.)
Littlest*NH*Granddaughter (age 4) explained that after attending her sister’s school open house, where there were just so many people, she was feeling “overtalkulated”! π
Very commuicative! I remember when Naomi was about the same age and had learned about milk coming from cows by watching Sesame Street, she called it "moolk" for a bit.
The Committee has voted unanimously to subpoena DT, under oath.
Nothing will likely come of it. Even if he showed up, he'd just take the Fifth. But chances are he'll spin it out until after the Election, after which there's a real chance the House will have a Republican majority, which would end the Committee's work and authority.
The Committee showed a few clips of the House members frantically seeking help on the day of the Insurrection. CNN is going to show about 40 minutes of the related video at 8:00pm. You won't want to miss this.
It was impressive!! Nancy Pelosi's daughter was present that day, to film much of the certification. She ended up filming the scenes where Nancy Pelosi was seeking to get the National Guard deployed. I found it rather poignant that the two people whose lives were most in danger that day ~ Speaker Pelosi and VP Pence ~ were the calm ones who got help to arrive and to get back into the Capitol and certify the election.
I had occasion to review the passing of Stalin. As with Putin, he had no designated successor, and there was no established method to decide on one. But the Communist Party Central Committee was still in existence and had both the power and the credibility to get the job done. In addition, Stalin died *after* *winning* a war.
