listener: about Skillshare.com [Click] or Wikipedia entry [Click], they used to offer three months’ free classes, but generally it is now one month. I went looking for places to get three months, and discovered a YEAR of free classes through the county library—maybe even renewable. But I need to renew my library card, which I will do this afternoon. I have realized that at least until I gain more skill at sketching I pretty much need to give up trying to do it by direct observation and work from photos for a while. They have a lot of art classes, although browsing them could be easier.
Have fun with it, and don't worry too much about the way it's "supposed" to be done. The biggest reason to learn how drawing is done classically is so that you can deliberately deviate from the way it's always been done and create a new expression. Grandma Moses never had formal training. She just up and painted when she was older and had time for it. But I can personally recommend as fun and useful the book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain." It taught me so much about how to look at an object as I was drawing it.
This certainly seems to be yet another strategic error; guess Putin didn't learn anything from Sweden and Finland moving to join NATO. I saw that one or two other Baltic countries are joining the investigation of the underwater gas pipeline leaks. Yesterday I saw mention of something that could elucidate the cause[s]. I had forgotten that the pipelines need to be regularly inspected, cleaned and otherwise maintained from inside, which is accomplished by a "pig"--- a robotic device that moves through the pipe under its own power. If the pipes were broken by explosions from the inside, that would be good evidence that it was Russian sabotage.
This is the End of Russia as we knew it. [Click] Exactly how or when it will end is not clear, but it is both certain and near. A well reasoned analysis, I think.
Thunder Runs: Analyzing Ukraine's Devastating New [to them] Tactic [Click] I cannot help but compare these “Thunder Runs” to Sherman's "change of base" from Atlanta to Savannah in 1864, which was followed by his advance to the north into the rear of the Confederate forces in Virginia. Lee said that there had been no army to compare with Sherman's since Caesar's invasion of Gaul.

Heartbreaking. Putin won’t stop. He must be stopped. He’s destroying both Ukraine and his own country.
