The property hosts 16 natural communities and 25 rare or endangered species, according to state officials and The Nature Conservancy.”

DeleteThat’s ALBURGH State Park
(foolish AutoINcorrect)
LOL! AutoINcorrect added the capital A!)
Anonymous Alan says: As I was reading through the Alburgh State Park entry, I was thinking it was describing Vermont itself!

DeleteFlorida is getting hammered today by Hurricane Ian, which has probably just increased to a Category 5 hurricane just off the coast. It was 155mph at 8:00am, and the pressure has fallen 5mb since then!

DeleteMillions Will Save on Medicare Next Year
ReplyDeleteSeptember 28, 2022 By Taegan Goddard
“For the first time in a decade, Americans will pay less next year on monthly premiums for Medicare’s Part B plan, which covers routine doctors’ visits and other outpatient care,” AP reports.
“The rare 3% decrease in monthly premiums is likely to be coupled with a historically high cost-of-living increase in Social Security benefits — perhaps 9% or 10% — putting hundreds of dollars directly into the pockets of millions of people.
That shouldn't be hard to take!

ReplyDeleteRoot*Center*Son turned 42 today. Two days ago, Youngest turned 40. A week from today, PhD*Son turns 44. As you can imagine, it was kind of wild when they were kids. We called these 9 days The Birthday Blitz. 🤣
ReplyDeleteI spent part of today keeping tabs on Hurricane Ian as it slammed into Florida as a high-end Category 4 hurricane...just 2 mph shy of Category 5...! There will be much devastation in its wake. One guy watched his Maverick truck with 4000 miles on it float away. But the worst was that his house is also gone. He's lucky to be alive.

I keep thinking of the Russian people who have allowed Putin to have power. I think it's largely because he offered them "stability" and they had lived through some serious instability. But if they already had enough to eat and roof over their heads and a little bit more for the enjoyment of life, they wouldn't think they need him. The same can be said for the right wing in America. If they were basically happy in life, they wouldn't need promises from some con man leader.
ReplyDeleteSo, basically, the world would be safe, stable and content if the whole world had socialism. Bernie is right.
Yes, there is enough for everyone if it were to be shared more or less adequately.
