    1. Ah, I see. Actually, in modern times folks are ordained for all sorts of deaconal or priestly ministries, such as teaching, writing, or mission work. It's like having a specialty, the way doctors do.

    2. I should expect that there is still demand for generalists-- which is a demanding speciality in its own right.

    1. I begin to wonder if the planet heating up is causing more Autocracy and stupidity.
As the saying goes: How weather makes you stupid." Is it true?

    3. Very jolly indeed! I particularly enjoy the fact that Trump himself signed into law the increase in [maximum] jail time for illegal possession of government documents (in the Espionage Act) from one year to four years. Also that the only person who previously ran for President while in federal prison (Gene Debs) was also sent up for violation of the Espionag Act. [Even though what Debs was charged with is no longer part of the Espionage Act.]

    4. I find myself reminded of The Man Without a Country. [Click] It must be sixty years or so since I read the story.

  6. FBI Interviewed Lawyers About Missing Trump Documents [Click] “On June 3, counterintelligence officials with the Justice Department’s national security division went to Mar-a-Lago to collect remaining documents with classified markings. At that point, at least one Trump lawyer signed a statement saying material with the classified markings had been returned… But officials then used a subpoena to obtain surveillance footage of the hallway outside a storage room at Mar-a-Lago and saw something that alarmed them.”

  7. Neal Katyal: Trump Has To Fear Everything He's Said To Every Person Now [Click] One of the commentators says that Trump’s attorneys have a copy of the affidavit that was used to obtain the MAL search warrant. I hadn’t heard that and think it most unlikely; he probably meant the search warrant and maybe the inventory, but misspoke.

  8. Trump is rushing to hire seasoned lawyers — but he keeps hearing ‘No’ [Click]

The original story, in the Washington Post, [Click] goes into extensive detail. I can’t decide whether it sounds more like a dumpster fire or a train wreck. [For The Former Guy.]

  9. I see that the first shipload of liquified natural gas from Australia is nearing England. That route is being helped out by decreased demand in China due to economic contraction.

    4. If she runs for President I expect I will vote for her in the GOP primary. That would make her the first Republican I have voted for since Richard Nixon. The general election is another matter.
