The Irony Meter Has Broken July 7, 2022 at 10:19 am EDT By Taegan Goddard
This is priceless: Fox & Friends slammed British Prime Minister Boris Johnson this morning for being untrustworthy, refusing to leave office, mishandling the pandemic and overall just creating chaos.
David Frum: “Speaking of peaceful transition of power… whatever happens next for Boris Johnson, there is literally zero chance that he will organize a mob to sack Parliament or incite his supporters to try to hang the heir to the throne.”
This just in: Filmmaker Alex Holder’s documentary on the final days of the Trump administration, Unprecedented, will be streaming Sunday on Discovery+.
We don't have a Discovery+ subscription. Plus, our 6 year old granddaughter will be staying with us beginning tomorrow, through Wednesday! So we'll need to also tape the Tuesday Hearing. Is there a second hearing next week as well?
The Most Pathetic [Persons] in America [Click] “Without the complicity of the Republican Party, Donald Trump would be just a glorified geriatric Fox-watching golfer.” Who cheats.
Let’s Use Chicago Rules to Beat Russia [Click] “Why the U.S. adversary is a lot like Al Capone.” I agree with the general thesis, but think it is a mistake to compare today’s Russia to Capone in his prime; better his declining years, when he was slowly dying of syphilis. Russia is in terminal demographic decline, and its educational system, both academic and technical, collapsed together with the Soviet Union. There are (or were) a few people competent to replace the generation now retiring from government and industry, but many of them fled the country after the invasion of Ukraine. It would have had maybe about ten years; Putin’s War and a little nudge from the US could cut that in half.
We are eating breakfast; lead story on NHK news: Boris Johnson resigns!

DeleteNPR: Johnson resigns
Ah yes, Alan, priceless indeed!
It seems he resigned as Conservative Party leader, but wants to stay on as Prime Minister. That should fly like a lead balloon.
DeleteI suppose the paperwork and import taxes for French tumbrels makes their import difficult.

DeleteAllegedly Johnson wants to stay on as PM so he can throw a wedding anniversary bash at Chequers. [Click] But consider the source: The Mirror

ReplyDeleteGood point about Putin and Russia being more like ailing Capone.
ReplyDeleteThat was a real bad way to go, but he certainly deserved it.
