  1. I just checked to see if Costco carries sweetened condensed milk, and they do. No purchase restrictions.

    1. Did Dr. Spock recommend SWEETENED condensed milk for infants?? Man, that would be unhealthy! A whole new generation of diabetics.

    2. Hopefully the supply of infant formula will be restored soon. At least President Biden is working on it.

    3. Yes, but he said to add the sugar. Condensed milk doesn't have enough calories to meet babies' needs. Protein, vitamins A and D are OK, but not calories.

    4. From Wikipedia:
Condensed milk is cow's milk from which water has been removed (roughly 60% of it). It is most often found with sugar added, in the form of sweetened condensed milk (SCM), to the extent that the terms "condensed milk" and "sweetened condensed milk" are often used interchangeably today.[1] Sweetened condensed milk is a very thick, sweet product, which when canned can last for years without refrigeration if not opened. The product is used in numerous dessert dishes in many countries.

A related product is evaporated milk, which has undergone a lengthier preservation process because it is not sweetened. Evaporated milk is known in some countries as unsweetened condensed milk. Both products have a similar amount of water removed.

The US Army issued condensed milk as a field ration for Union troops during the Civil War. It was an extraordinarily good ration for the time.

    5. Worse and worse. Cow's milk is intended for a creature that has four stomachs, and sugar is not a nutrient. It's empty calories that make children hyper and put on fat that is hard to get off. If I were still a breastfeeding mother, I'd be expressing milk to give someone in need.

It's been operational since 1977... is many billions of miles away and still sending data!

  3. Younger Dryas impact hypothesis [Click] An alternative to the theory that the Younger Dryas was caused by massive freshwater flows into the North Atlantic from the melting North American ice sheet. Very interesting. Wikipedia covers both theories.
