    1. Well, he can't sing that Paul Simon song anymore...even though he's probably crazy.

  3. Thousands of teachers around the United States are resuming a strike wave in education that swept the country in 2018 and 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic. 1. Let's just be clear. Legislators have no authority to prescribe the behavior of natural persons. They certainly have no jurisdiction over a natural process such as the elimination of fertilized ova which the host organism deems to be inappropriate or defective. What legislators can influence/direct are persons whose professional occupation they authorize and protect from adverse competition. Ergo, legislators are seetting up new restrictions for the providers of medical and surgical care, nominally in the interest of "protcting" a parasitic cellular mass from premature excission. The legislators' claim to jurisdiction is not very different from the their claim that they need to regulate barbers (the antecedents of surgeons) because they use knives and scissors and might draw blood.
The granting and revocation of licenses is actually on shekey ground. Texas is actually smart in tying interference to persons who might have a personal (paternal) interest in not having fetal tissue removed prematurely. But, it would be nice if the support for paternal intersts were overt.
The human male is in a precarious position because his genetic heritage will perish, if he cannot persuade some female to consent to impregnation and a lengthy period of gestation. And, if paternity is the sole source of achievement, then the male predicament may well seem dire.

  5. "A million dreams for the world we're gonna make"

Ohhh, I am thoroughly appreciating an amazing Concert For Peace tonight, being livestreamed from London, Ontario, CANADA! What amazing talent, beautiful voices and even a children's choir singing the theme from The Greatest Showman. I came to tears at these words:

"Every night I lie in bed
The brightest colours fill my head
A million dreams are keeping me awake
I think of what the world could be
A vision of the one I see
A million dreams is all it's gonna take
A million dreams for the world we're gonna make."

Rachel Hamm, a GOP candidate for secretary of state in California, insists that Trump won all 50 states in 2020. Her proof? A dream she had: "I feel fairly certain that that is what happened and that it's only fraud that made it look otherwise."

    1. It's an old (albeit questionable) observation that the climate in California is perfect for all sorts of fruits and nuts. Can't say as I had previously heard of that particular one.
