Well, for an authoritarian, command and control is the issue of importance. Failure is inevitable. However, failure is also consistent with conservatism because you just "try and try again."
Some are concerned that hybrids will emerge that will be harder to control. But! If this works it could be game changing! Do mosquitoes help the world in ANY way? Might this be a long term solution for decreasing their numbers...especially in countries with malaria, etc.? Can we work on ticks next?

This afternoon I made a run to the garden supply store for mulch and manure, and the place was mobbed. I am keeping an eye out for when the FDA approves second Covid boosters for the Geezerhood.
Wil has heart disease and is not ready to stop wearing masks, so I respect that...given the cardiac issues that can result from Covid. Also, my own immune system isn't stellar, so we both need to be diligent, given the uptick in cases. Vermont has a 5.2% positivity rate right now. The first year and a half we were less than 2% and often less than 1%.
The queen of crime-solving [Click] “Forensic scientist Angela Gallop has helped to crack many of the UK’s most notorious murder cases. But today she fears the whole field – and justice itself – is at risk.” Not the sort of forensic work I did, but closely related, and the problems she points out are very much present on this side of the pond. I got a bit of a chuckle out of learning that we both worked on one of the same cases.
