    1. One might reasonably suppose that BYD's bus (and soon if not already truck) assembly plant in southern California is being used to test the English-language versions of their manufacturing software for deployment in auto plants.

    1. Probably an Anglo-Saxon word. Which reminds me that I came across this book review yestere'en:
The Wordhord: Daily Life in Old English [Click] and decided it would make a good Xmas present. Alas, I cannot order it from the UK because it has not yet been released in the US. I ordered it from Amazon nonetheless, figuring that in the event it would make a fine Imbolc present. Allow me to suggest that your local library might consider getting a copy.

  3. I purchased a moderately snazzy pen some years back, a Pilot Vanishing Point (retractable fountain pen). A glued spot came apart in the tip, rendering it unusable, and I couldn't see how to repair it. I had purchased it from Japan (because it cost less that way), but kept the original box. Sent it to the Pilot-Namiki repair facility in Florida for evaluation, and just today received a message saying that it was repaired and on its way back to me, no charge. That sort of behavior could encourage people to do business with them!

  4. The Covid vaccine is free, but some people have tried to illegally obtain fake vaccine cards only to get scammed, by other criminals [Click] And I suppose they (or their heirs) will be resentful when their hospitalization costs are not covered by insurance.
