  1. That's the Brooks Range and their little camp. The Arctic Ocean is behind the photographer (PhD*Son).

Check out the post I wrote (on the last thread) after talking with him around 12:20am tonight. (It was only 7:20pm there.)

    1. Photo is from 2018. Currently that scene is white with deep snow.

  2. We lost Pixie last week. She ran away, somehow got out onto the major artery not far from our house and was, we surmise, struck by a car. Everyone has been distressed, especially Dad. Not only was Pixie his special friend, but he feels responsible for her escaping. Of course it was not his fault, but he feels it was which, naturally, makes him feel much worse.

    1. Awwww, so sad for you and for Dad. Unfortunately, kitties don't know all that could happen. 🐱 I hope she. had a fun adventure first, at least! It was just an accident. It happens. But it's always so hard when it happens to a beloved pet. =HUGS= ❤️

  5. The past several days Miyoko has profited from hot baths, and yesterday we discovered that a big muscle in her right leg that I used to step on by way of massage had become very stiff and sore, so we went back to work on that and she is doing better.

I have also been taking the waters to good effect, and found a couple of videos online by a physical therapist talking about diagnosis and treatment of pains in back, hip and so forth. He noted that in pyriformis syndrome the big toe may hurt or tingle, which Miyoko's does. So I checked out his video on exercise treatments for same; Miyoko had been doing them on the advice of a friend, as it turned out. One was new for me but I decided to try it, and one is a modification of an exercise I had been doing for some time. They really helped! But the completely new one left me sore enough after one try that I skipped it today; probably tomorrow will be OK. But it significantly improved my range and ease of motion. My back hardly hurt at all when I got up this morning! My back and legs went south after my two abdominal operations about twelve years ago; I suspect it was because of a severe initial reaction to the muscle relaxant they gave me for surgery. I have realized that what I thought was a recurrent injury to the meniscus in my right knee has actually been a knot in a muscle at the attachment point. So lots of progress!
