Surprise!

Surprised to see this posted near our mailbox.
Seems the town is getting ready for Mud Season!
It's actually a week or two late this year.

  2. I have to take the car in for long-overdue maintenance today. This is one necessity I HATE having to do and the only thing I miss about having a husband so HE could do it.

    1. How'd it go? Was it routine maintenance or did you get a big bill? Hoping it wasn't too harsh and that folks there were respectful of Covid measures.

  3. Economic notes from here and there:

The relief bill Biden will shortly sign raises US spending on the current crisis to 5.5 trillion dollars, and Congress is getting ready to tee up a huge infrastructure bill. By comparison, the US spent four trillion (2020) dollars on WWII. Before the pandemic hit, the consensus projection was for 2% economic growth this year. Today Morgan Stanley raised their 2021 forecast for U.S. economic growth to 7.3% from 6.5%, a pace unsurpassed since the Korean War boom in 1951. Latest survey shows 68% support Biden’s stimulus. For the technologically inclined, they describe the Volksempfänger, introduced by the Nazis, as a cheap wireless transistor radio to disseminate propaganda. Of course that is impossible—transistor radios didn’t appear for another twenty years. As for it being wireless, of course it was! Radio broadcasts were not sent by telephone wires!
