  1. It's only the second night of Hanukkah,
but we need all the light we can get. 🕯

  3. Jonathan Freeland: Britain faces a no-deal crash-out: even ultra-Brexiters said this would be a disaster [Click] Is such group psychology (or better psychopathy) a warning of what might lay in wait for the United States? Heaven forfend.

  5. American Elites Still Don’t Understand How COVID-19 Works [Click] “Nine months into the pandemic, government leaders can’t comprehend—or refuse to clearly say—what this virus is or how it spreads.” You couldn’t mean —GASP!— that our social “elites” don’t occupy their social niches because of their native intelligence and acquired competence? Go on!

  7. Alan, I'm still chuckling over your roving bands of hunter-vaccinators. The vaccine dart gun works for me.

    2. Oh, I missed that one!
      Can you point me?

    3. Reply to your post at 12/11/2020 08:08:00 PM, listener. Where you say that vaccinations will not be mandatory.

    4. Come to think of it, I suppose the non-vaccinated could be identified by lack of the microchips contained in the vaccine.

  8. Just watched Engelbert's first ever streaming Christmas special. It was wonderful!

A nurse came this morning. I'm unclear as to where she's from. Don't want to speak too loud in case of jinx but *whisper behind hand* things may finally be falling into place. She mentioned a colleague coming by Monday. Let's hope this is the beginning of better, or at least more organized, days!

    1. While we're on the subject: I haven't seen leadership from AAPD on television bitching that there aren't enough disabled people in Biden's admin. I haven't seen leadership from NFB on television bitching that there aren't enough blind people. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, not one person chosen by Biden has the smallest hint of a disability. Read nobody in that admin. looks like me. Boo hoo, that hurts my feelings. Maybe I should go on television and bitch! I mean, he has women and gays and folks of various colors and color combinations...Why can't all these loudmouths just shut the hell up? They give me a swift pain!

    2. Yes, the country's largest minority typically gets overlooked when people talk about "diversity."

    3. Well said!

How is this any different than those red necks who wanted W and then DT because said candidate reminded them of themselves. We cannot ALL have a President just like ourselves. I side with Aaron Sorkin. I want a President who is way smarter than me ... no matter what they look like or walk like or see like. It’s their character and inner vision I’m interested in.

    1. I think we got your rain tonight, Alan. Lows are warm enough to melt the bit of snow we got.

    1. Today was the first time in recent memory that we had fewer new cases than the number newly recovered. Sure hope that becomes a trend!

Quirky Christmas show brought to you by Fred Marple and The Frostheaves Players. I enjoyed it, but it may be a Yankee thing.

  13. Detection of free-floating “rogue” planets [Click] It will become much easier with new space telescopes, but more than 20 have already been detected by ground-based observatories—one about the size of Earth (if confirmed).
