Yes. The timeline depends on how much vaccine is available when. And after learning just how little Illinois will get initially I no longer have great confidence.
The Trump administration had almost nothing to do with developing the Pfizer vaccine. Moderna is their baby. Not that Moderna alone can produce enough vaccine fast enough.

Thank goodness! Is all this foolishness over now? Or is Trump going to cook up some new way to frighten, intimidate, hoodwink and bilk his supporters?
Today my dad's pastor called to check in on him. I happened to hear the conversation because he walked into the kitchen to take the call and because he always uses speaker phone. After some other chit chat, including the pastor's reminder to mask up, distance and wash hands, the pastor said, "I'm still praying about the election. Discussion ensued, including Dad's observation that this new action by the Texas A.G. looked promising. Guess those are two disappointed Trumpsters.
Actually, I was surprised. From the news I gathered that folks who reject the election results generally also reject the need for masks. *shrug* Go figure.
The Supreme Court decision may or may not be the end of it, but the Electoral College vote Monday almost surely will be. Trump has promised to accept that (not that you can trust anything Trump says) and I think overturning that final official vote is beyond the imagination of any Trumpista intelligent enough to read a newspaper.
👍 🙂 👍 🙂 👍 🙂 👍 The GOOD NEWS IN VERMONT is that there does NOT seem to be an increase in cases here in the wake of Thanksgiving, as Vermonters seem to have followed holiday guidelines. There have been some outbreaks in nursing facilities. Generally, the State is following 38 outbreaks and 220 situations. They say there is just more virus out there now. so folks need to be all the more vigilant. Hospitals and long term care facilities will get the shots first. It seems it will be "late Winter or early Spring" before most Vermonters get the shots and it will take five weeks or so for the immune response to take effect. Since the shot is emergency use only, it cannot be mandated.
Oh, darn--I've been visualizing hunter-vaccinator groups interacting with non-vaccinators. Not sure if they would restrain the misbehaving and inject them, or just use vaccination darts.
The Vaccine Distribution out front is the Massachusetts Plan, Cat.
ReplyDeleteI imagine the plans of others states will be much the same.
First they have to get the vaccine(s). . .

DeleteThe Trump "administration" turning down the offer of more vaccine sooner is a real head-banger.

DeleteBut the admin. did "pass on" more of the Pfizer vaccine.
