Waiting Can Be Steasful

  1. How's everybody holding up?

We are doing some very small family visits this weekend...distanced for all but the very youngest. Then we can take it easy for several weeks, see just Root*Center*Son for Thanksgiving. And, if the numbers are coming down we MIGHT get to visit in Maine Dec 4th-6th...but you're safer in doubting it.

My town clerk friend and I had planned to go for a distanced nature walk with our cameras this week. But we put it off because she had over 500 voters on Election Day plus 80 poll workers! She said it was the most she'd been around people for months. So she is quarantining for the most part and, hey, I'm without my car anyway. We'll try again in late November...maybe.

    1. Got a real chuckle out of that cartoon. Definitely the right lab for the condition.
I've seen a HUGE drop off in the number of emails cluttering my inbox. Not only less stress but I'm finding time to get back to working on my book.

  3. “ He clearly intends to continue reshaping the government while he retains the office of the presidency: in the three days since the election he has gotten rid of the leaders of the three agencies in charge of the U.S. stockpile of nuclear weapons, the regulation of natural gas and electricity, and aid to foreign countries. Administration officials did not give a reason for the ousters, but it seems clear he is purging the administration of officials he considers insufficiently loyal.”

  5. I'm OK; just back from Hogwart's. Ain't Georgia something else? And it's not surprising that Our Dear Leader should be acting out like the child, or better perhaps. the incomplete human he is. I expect that Moscow Mitch may get a bit of learnin' about raw political power; better if he were to be a good boy, though.

  7. All I want in 2021 is to be able to sleep at night again. This insomnia shtick has more than worn out its welcome. It's not that I'm not tired, it's just that when I lie down my brain revs up and goes "Nope, not sleeping tonight" and begins a running commentary on mistakes I've made, things I wished I hadn't said or done and on and on and on.

    1. The AP has called Pennsylvania for Biden. Their map also shows Nevada blue, although there is no checkmark there. Biden 290 electoral votes with Georgia and North Carolina (maybe Alaska) still in play.
