Bill--this belongs on the previous thread, but I wanted to make sure you saw it. Not being familiar with touch screen voting machines, I wondered if the ones in use where you live display the choices in a large, easily readable format.
Pretty much these days. On the early iterations you could double the font size but then you had to scroll around like with a regular computer screen magnifier. I think there's also an audio option for people who are functionally blind.
Berkeley IGS Poll: Biden’s Victory Margin in California in this Year’s Presidential Election Could Reach Historic Proportions [Click] ”If Biden’s 36-point lead is borne out in the election, this outcome would be the largest victory margin in a California presidential election since 1920 when Republican Warren Harding defeated Democrat James Cox by 42 percentage points and would be the largest Democratic victory in California history.” Across all groups, people are voting for or against Trump—not for Trump and for Biden.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) says he doesn’t think that President Trump’s attacks on Hunter Biden will move even one voter, The Hill reports. Said Cruz: “One of Biden’s best points was when he said all these attacks back and forth about my family and Trump’s family, they don’t matter. What matters is your family. That may have been Biden’s best moment, actually.”
New York Times: “Once regarded as the most vulnerable incumbents, many Democrats who carried Trump districts in 2018 are poised to win re-election, boosting the party’s chances of building its House majority.”
“The only people truly better off than they were four years ago are the billionaires that got Trump’s tax cuts. In the meantime, he has not been able to manage extending relief to millions of families who can’t pay the rent right now, can’t put food on the table right now. You know, I don’t understand how it is that he cannot organize Republicans in Congress to do the right thing. And its not like it’s his money that we’re asking to pay because he doesn’t pay taxes.” — Barack Obama, quoted by The Hill.

Sure looks like Trump's goose is cooked; I think I can be forgiven for hoping that it continues to the point of incineration. Reminds me of the time I made up some ravioli, a tossed salad, and garlic toast. I forgot about the garlic toast maturing in the broiler until I had finished the rest. I opened the broiler to find two completely black lumps of what had been intended to be toast. Out of curiosityI turned off the kitchen light and saw that they were glowing lumps of charcoal. . .
According to the US Elections Project, 69,257,810 Americans have voted by mail or early in person as of today. That accounts for more than half of the country’s total turnout in 2016.
Texas’ turnout remains the highest in the country, both in terms of raw vote count and as a proportion of its 2016 total. About 7.8 million Texans have already voted in the election, representing nearly 87% of the state’s total 2016 turnout.
And there is still a week left until Election Day.
For curiosity, I just checked: The Chicago Tribune endorsed Joe Biden. This is a newspaper that endorsed Dick Durbin's Republican challenger for Senate.
I spoke with puddle again today. While waiting for her new keyboard, her computer has gone to black screen of death. So I looked up a number of a local-to-her computer repair service, and we’ll see if she can get it repaired. Send her the best sort of repair vibes!!! She says Mercury is in retrograde until Election Day. (Hmmm, wish I knew what time that day!)
