DT is desperate to remain President, not so he can serve or even so he can rule (that’s just a perk). It’s because it’s the only stay out of jail card he has left.
Malaika Jabali: Disaffected Black voters cost Clinton the election. Biden hasn't learned that lesson [Click] Sounds about right; the old “New Democrat” thesis that the way to win elections is to be as much like the Republicans as possible. I haven’t marked my sample ballot for President yet, but this gives me a nudge. I am a fairly well-off, highly educated, suburban dwelling, White guy—the embodiment of the New Democrats’ target community—but I remember where I came from.
Biden is not alone. The entire Democratic Establishment thinks more of wooing Republicans than their base. They think the USA is "centrist". It may have been once upon a time, but with all our suffering that is no longer true. Their attacks on Progressives, and particularly their actual theft of the nomination from Bernie shows where they are. They don't campaign tough, they campaign scared - afraid to offend anyone. Instead they come off as pandering, weak and misguided. And everyone at the top is TOO DAMN OLD and out of touch.
Which is why Biden is probably going to lose. I'm sure as hell not voting for him. And yet the prospect of Trump winning, because let's face it Hawkins isn't going to, frightens me out of my mind.
That's the responsible thing to do, and we are all responsible here. Those of us who vote in states that are sure to deliver landslides for Biden can represent you.
Ohio's numbers are all messed up. They still have yesterday's numbers up and apparently we have people coming alive again as there were FEWER deaths Thursday than Wednesday. Apparently something like 273 people have risen. Sigh.
Our numbers are a little funny once in awhile. I think they have days when they make corrections after some purported cases turn out not to be COVID-19. But 273 is a big correction. I did, though, enjoy the way you said it.
And I nearly spit out my coffee when I read Alan's response!!! 😂
On the NHK world news this morning they had a segment showing Trump and Melania standing alongside the RBG's coffin, looking out over the assembled throng, as they chanted "Vote him out, Vote him out, Vote him out. . ."

I remain of the opinion that if the R's actually manage to destroy the ACA, that will put political rockets on universal medical care, presumably built on Medicare.
Gee--I was just reading that another heat wave is coming in California, but our local ten-day forecast highs are in the nineties, which isn't bad hereabouts, although I don't know if it is particularly uncommon at this time of year.
