There is not defined eye, as there would be with a hurricane. Plus, once it hit land, Tropical Storm Fay devolved into a Tropical Depression. It is now not unlike a windy, rain and thunderstorm. But it is moving up from the south, bringing humid air with it.
Never happened in Chicago, thanks to advance planning. They even converted McCormick Place convention center into a makeshift hospital staffed by a National Guard medical unit, but it never had to be used.
OHIO: As of Saturday afternoon, there have been at least 64,214 confirmed or probable cases in the state, 3,036 deaths, and 8,701 hospitalizations, according to the Ohio Department of Health.
It wasn't obvious until I read the article that this is about injection devices, not vaccines. And this is, of course, only one of several companies that will be supplying them. From the article: "'Hedging bets is the best approach, but plan for the worst case scenario and hope for the best case scenario,' said Zehrung." The most worrisome part, buried deep in the article, is that it's not clear the government has made adequate arrangements if the Apliject device turns out not to work or not to work with the selected vaccine. And although this innovative technology has been sold mostly of the basis of its low cost, the government is actually paying Apliject twice what it is paying for a traditional needle and syringe. (Not mentioned in the article, but it sounds like the Apliject device might also be easier for untrained people to use.)
I was thoroughly surprised to get a grant check from the junior college for $150 (which will pay for art supplies for my continuation of the class on my own). I finally figured out that it was the minimum CARES grant. the maximum is $600, which should be most welcome to the conventional students, especially since it comes during the Fall semester registration period.
"The Tulsa screw-up will go down in campaign history, then the cancellation in little New Hampshire? Boom. (God knows why rallies are so important, he makes a complete ass of himself)."
So the are concerned that another attempt at a rally will flop like the one in Tulsa did? You don't treat a boil by letting it slowly get worse--you lance it! Let them stage another rally, watch it flop, and be done with it.
Old news. Trump said as much at the time. Although, as so often with this guy, you could never tell whether he half-thought he was Joking or half-thought he was serous.
Gee, lucky you! Does that mean you get some calm weather as the eye goes by?
