The trump aides can try all they want, but it should be abundantly clear to them after all this time that trump listens to nobody. He trusts his "gut" (of which he has plenty) and his "common sense" (of which he has none).
"They wanted to show that the problem of policing in America is more than that of individual bad officers; the problem is a culture that protects wrongdoers, tolerates mendacity, rewards blind loyalty and is fiercely resistant to change. More deeply, it is a law enforcement culture that does not regard black lives as worthy of protection.
And what did the cops do? They responded with a display of organized, unchecked power — on camera, in a way that many Americans might never be able to unsee."
OHIO: As of Wednesday afternoon, there have been at least 39,575 confirmed or probable cases in the state, 2,457 deaths, and 6,693 hospitalizations, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

“Public Health (Dayton & Montgomery County) also has a concern about the rise of cases here in Montgomery County. We’re trying to make those cases stay level and then drop off. Right now, they’re still going up and that is a concern," said Public Health spokesman Dan Suffoletto."
I'm no expert, but I find myself wondering if this doesn't trace back to the Clinton-era decision to allow the merger of commercial banks and investment banks. From where I sit, JP Morgan and Chase don't look like the same sort of thing.
Absolutely. Commercial banks and investment houses were separated for a reason. IMHO a lot of our current woes can be traced back to Clinton's presidency.
Before reading: My feeling from all the e-mail lists I find myself on is that down ballot Democrats, especially women, are doing well in Texas. Based on that observation, assuming it is accurate, I should have thought it would be very much worthwhile for Biden to work hard there. *shrug* But, what do I know? It is completely possible that I'm wrong about the down ballot races...

NASCAR Bans Confederate Flags at Races June 10, 2020 By Taegan Goddard From a statement: “The presence of Confederate flags at NASCAR events runs contrary to our commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all fans, our competitors, and our industry.”

Definitely not a good trend here. Family is probably not coming after all.
We are thinking we'll go to Maine the last weekend of June. Moving two adults is easier than moving the lot of them. Also, Maine is opening to more people starting July 1st, and that's when the vacationers will take over the beaches and COVID-19 will blossom anew. Sigh.

ReplyDeleteFrom politicalwire.com:
ReplyDeleteA new Gallup poll finds President Trump’s approval rate dropping from 49% to 39% in just a month.
A new Politico/Morning Consult poll also shows Trump’s approval at 39%.
A new Data for Progress poll finds Joe Biden leading Donald Trump nationally in the presidential race, 54% to 40%.
A new Reuters/Ipsos poll finds Biden ahead by 46% to 38%.
We need to improve all those numbers, but with Trump’s help there is still time.
