What Sen Joni Ernst revealed after yesterday’s Trial performances
Part of the Republican playbook yesterday was to diminish Biden before the Iowa caucuses. Why do I have a feeling that core Dems will end up blaming Bernie for ruining Biden’s chances, by winning?
Gotcha. Thanks. It's just a difference of terminology. I would call those corporate Dems or Republican Lite. To me, "core" has a connotation of "real," "genuine," "fundamental" or "foundational," which the corporate, Clintonista types definitely are not!
Well, there you go. The President's defense team is trying to tell us that the Impeachment is unfounded because the House may not have crossed some T's correctly. I sure don't buy it. It's bluster. They claim it's just a policy dispute (!) and never address what the President actually did: withhold vital aid to a foreign gov't while expecting that gov't to dig up dirt on an American political opponent. They are ignoring John Bolton's revelation. Apparently they have nothing real and are just talking and using legalese to try to dull our brains and raise doubt. But if you have a moral core and common sense, you can see that the Emperor has no clothes. It seems to me a total copout by the Senate to say they have to leave it to the American people in November. It's Congress' job to protect the American people from an Executive Branch run amok. C'mon. Do your job.
I agree, Listener. The problem is, these so called people don't have moral cores or commonsense.
Anyone with a grain of commonsense would have unhitched his wagon from Trump's star ages ago, seeing that Trump is, to continue the analogy, very soon going supernova and not wanting to be destroyed with him. Why any politician is still defending, supporting or otherwise associating his name with Trump beats me!
Note that it was made with Netanyahu, who was indicted on corruption charges this morning. Note that the Palestinians were not consulted. Note that Kushner frames it as the best Palestinians are going to get so they'd better buck up.

Please explain what you mean by "core Dems."
DeleteSure. I mean those Dems, like the DNC last time, who don't want the party to move from center.

DeleteAh, I see. Thanks for clarifying.

To highlight a word: Their base (n.) is base (adj.).

I'm guessing Alan has class today?
ReplyDeleteAny last minute guesses about the photo out front?
ReplyDeleteCourt, mebbe?
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was my second guess, especially as it would involve travel.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I scrolled back a couple days, but Alan didn't mention having court, as he usually does. Hoping all is well.
