How's it Goin'?

  1. One thing Johnson’s victory doesn’t change: he’s still lying about Ireland [Click] “His false claims about the withdrawal agreement reveal an utter lack of interest in Brexit’s consequences for Belfast and Dublin” Not to mention England, Scotland and Wales.

  2. Left a reply on the previous thread. I was typing the reply when I got a long phone call that lasted past midnight.

  3. Buffalo as a climate refuge. [Click] But they aren’t doing anything much to prevent gentrification so far. It has the infrastructure to accommodate a huge increase in population.

  4. Biden and Sanders Top Democratic Field [Click] Warren close behind, Buttigieg farther back, no one else significant.

  5. Judiciary Report Says Trump Committed Multiple Crimes [Click] Gee. If GOP senators don’t find fault with that, they are hopefully committing political suicide.

  6. There are certainly parallels between the Torification of Britain and the Republification of America. The decline in both countries of heavy industry such as mining and of manufacturing along with the commensurate decline in union membership and power must surely go a long way to explain what's happening. But, it can't be the only explanation. There have always been middle and upper class members of both the Labour and the Democratic parties. At the same time the working classes and below, those struggling to find jobs and to keep body and soul together, used to be able to recognize their own best interests. Unquestionably in this country and it looks like in Britain as well, these folks on the lower reaches of the economic ladder have gone mad. I would never vote for a billionaire who is well known to refuse to pay his contractors, to have ties to foreign mobsters and to both employ and mistreat illegals. Why on earth would a trucker or a hard scrabble farmer or an out-of-work steal or auto worker do so? And why would they do so in such numbers as to elect said billionaire?

Now, I would be the first to point out that it was Hillary Clinton's fault. She lost that election fair and square, without any help from Trump or anyone else. But as lousy a candidate as she was, I still cannot understand anyone voting for Trump! He is a despicable excuse for a human being, which is a far cry from just being a lousy candidate. Johnson may not be quite in Trump's league, but he's sure in there trying. And he well may destroy Britain far more thoroughly than Trump will destroy America.

  7. Would removal from office through conviction by the Senate in and of itself disqualify Trump from running for president again?

    1. Yes. It would disqualify him from holding any further office.

    2. That explains why some office holders are sometimes impeached after leaving office.

    3. Ah! That's good to know. Thanks, gentlemen.

"Upon discovery of the remains, the long-established human remains protocol was activated, the on-site tribal monitor was notified, and excavation of the particular site was halted," the statement said. "As we move forward, the GLO and Alamo Trust, Inc. will continue to follow all applicable laws and procedures."

    1. Just driving home the point that we must not nominate another centrist.

    2. I do wish we could regularly put quotation marks around the word "centrist." Also "conservative." But that is what the journalists call right-wingers and radicals these days. IMO.
