  1. 8.25" of new snow so far. Our lights blinked around 12:30am. Then our plow guy texted that he suddenly has a stomach bug. Yikes!

  2. Our lights just blinked again, hard that time. Doesn't bode well. I'm so glad I cooked extra food, laundry is done, and we have a non-electric heat source. Time to nestle in and enjoy that snowed-in feeling!

    1. A non-electric heat source would seem to be a necessity up in your neck of the woods. Out of idle curiosity, what is it?

    2. Where we lived when I was young, power failures were nothing unusual in the winter, and could last for days. We had fuel oil for heat, and candles for light. From force of habit, I kept candles, a candlestick and matches in the top drawer of my dresser (on the left side), where I could find them in the dark, for a long time after we moved away and electricity failures were rare and short.

    3. In addition to our two heat pumps (and our traditional electric backup radiators), we have a parlour stove which runs on propane. We used to have a wood stove, but smoke bothers me.

    1. Boo.
Utterly crude and disrespectful of Robert Mueller.

  4. I’m having trouble getting to sleep, between waiting every minute for word on the gist of Mueller’s report, and the mounting heavy snow weighing down bushes and tree branches as the wind picks up. Watch, we’ll lose power just before the news breaks!

  5. Trump’s Legal Threat Is [Very] Far From Over [Click] A nice summary of the criminal investigations that have so far spun off from Mr. Mueller’s work.

I remember one commentator making the point that Mueller’s investigation was twofold: criminal and counterintelligence, and that the latter was likely predominant. I can easily imagine that the counterintelligence part uncovered things that cannot be fully revealed to the public for legitimate reasons of national security and for protection of US agents. I also expect that more information is going to come out of ongoing court cases initiated by Mueller.

Naturally enough, LOTS of coverage of the march for a people’s vote on Brexit in London today/yesterday at both BBC [Click] and The Guardian. [Click] Could well have been a million people marching. Jeremy Corbyn was notable by his absence.
