Sounds pretty good to me, particularly the bit about it being fearsome to Republicans... --Alan
Iowa Democrats Pack Early Campaign Events January 5, 2019 at 7:37 pm EST By Taegan Goddard
“People stood in parking lots, jostled into front yards and packed into the rafters to witness Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s inaugural appearances here in the first presidential caucus state,” the Washington Post reports.
“The Iowa caucuses remain 13 months away, but a pent-up demand for change in the White House is tangible among Democrats eager for the 2020 campaign to start in earnest. The throngs of voters bombarding events in Iowa are testament to something fearful for Republicans: The huge tide of Democratic voters who powered the party’s 2018 gains have not lost interest as attention turns to the 2020 presidential race.”
Despite the absurdity and cruelty of the shutdown and the reason for it, I am feeling new hope for the coming year with the Repubs out of power in the House. I sure do hope they show us ACTION and not just talk.
Vermont Edition on Vermont Public Radio did a broadcast with VT Rep. Peter Welch. I have always liked Peter, but I like him more than ever after hearing this broadcast! Check it out. It's worth listening to! And he is on the House Oversight Committee.
Yes, pretty good. It still surprises me that one of California's great achievements back in Jerry Brown's first or second term as governor (late 1990's) hardly gets any attention. Yes, we have energy efficiency (both for buildings and for appliances) and a carbon tax, but in addition regulation of utilities was changed so they could make more money generating less power. Ever since, they have been actively encouraging energy efficiency, whereas before they had appliance showrooms in their offices, and the more energy INefficient the better--because the more kilowatts they sold, the more money they made.
Warren Iowa blitz [Click] From Politico.com, so consider that when reading. the photo gallery [Click] looks good, but the audiences are so tiny. An estimated eight thousand people turned out in Fresno for Bernie. Oh, well. I quote here the next to the last paragraph:
“In her Iowa swing, the Massachusetts senator made a rare move in kicking off the Iowa campaign in the western, rural part of the state — Council Bluffs — deep Republican territory and the congressional district of conservative firebrand Rep. Steve King.” That’s something.

White House did not understand shutdown implications? But I thought Fart was such a *great* businessman. :P

Aww--thanks, everybody! Perkins says I can't stay right now, but I'll check back in later today.
