I don't understand why, but the climatologists predict that the hurricanes/typhoons will be slower moving because of global warming, which means they will dump more water on the areas they hit, and so it seems to be.
The previous typhoon to hit Japan followed a historically unprecedented path, turning back and going over the area it had just hit. The current one seems to be following a more conventional (but not quite typical) path.
Floods on the island of Hawaii, fires whipped by gale-force winds on Maui, and Fox News Turns on Trump. [Click] Behind a paywall, but the particularly notable thing is that during the past two days (!) three Faux Gnus anchors (Neil Cavuto, Shep Smith, and Bret Baier in case that means anything) have ripped Trump (and his associates) for lying about hush money payments and the infamous Trump Tower meeting with the Russians. “He’s less powerful in these relationships now than he was before he became president. That must just amaze him,” said D’Antonio, author of “Never Enough, Donald Trump and the Pursuit of Success.” ”He’s sitting behind the Resolute Desk and he can push a button and get a Coke but he can’t control Michael Cohen.”
Oh the irony of it all. Our "president" doesn't know the words to the anthem or any other patriotic song and doesn't know what color our flag is. If it wasn't so absolutely horrifying I would be laughing.
I think you must have something *very* wrong with your brain to live here, be older than 12, and be able to make a "mistake" like that. I think there's some *serious* brain deterioration going on here.
On Sunday we head to Maine to bring The Painting to Daughter. Then we celebrate the life of sister-in-law Elizabeth who died in April. Hardest will be that two family members who will be present are in various stages of cancer treatment. One is not expected to live out the year. The other is recovering from surgery. I am bringing hats to those with no hair. But what can I bring for the loved one who has lost TWO partners to cancer and is about to lose the daughter of the second partner to same? So harsh.
As I was taking my evening constitutional, I realized that there were three bright planets visible; what I figured was Venus, another, and Mars. I looked it up, then went outside to double-check, and found there were FOUR plants visible simultaneously: from west to east, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. Saturn I had mistaken for a star (it was the least bright of the four). Venus sets about 9PM.

Climate change weakens the world's circulatory winds, leading to slower hurricanes (and tornadoes).
