  1. Such a good thread on Friday. Thanks, everyone. I just added more posts there, as well.

Oh, and, Manafort is First (into Jail!).

    1. Yes, it WAS a good thread. I left a response for you, listener. And Mr. Manafort's new residential arrangements make me think of Going in Style [Click] with George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg. One of my all-time favorite movies; frequently comedic, but dealing with enough really heavy-duty stuff that one can't watch it very often.

    1. Signed and shared, but without much hope as everyone in Congress seems to have been effectively neutered.

  4. This is a response on the FB Comfort for Children in ICE Detention page. The initial post was about the Mass. Office for unaccompanied Minors. Certainly there is a need there, but I think many folks want to help the children and babies at the border.

Emily Ross: April Bradshaw, - hi. These aren't kids from the border necessarily, they may be kids who were here already whose parents are now in immigration detention, or some of the undocumented kids who were arrested at schools or etc. The fact that we are still able to get these kids in foster care in Massachusetts tells you that the numbers are fairly low. At the border, they are so overloaded family based care is no longer feasible. You have clothes and toys? Great! The Florence Project would love to receive secondhand children’s clothes, soft toys, and kids books. Please post to: The Florence Project 738 N 5th Avenue, Ste 103 Tucson, AZ 85705. They are working with kids from the border.

  5. Southern Baptists Call Off the Culture War[Click] “America’s largest Protestant group moves to cut ties with the Republican Party and re-engage with mainstream culture.” Gee.

The Fight to Define Romans 13[Click] Jeff Sessions used it to justify his policy of family separation, but he’s not the first to invoke the biblical passage—not by a very long shot. This is a very thorough exposition, but I should think that Mr. Sessions ought to know at least part of it very well.
