How Oregon wound up with way more pot than it can smoke[Click] Overproduction causes wholesale and retail prices to plummet; and marijuana doesn’t keep very long. Hardly a surprise that people get burnt financially when they pile into get-rich-quick schemes.
On yet another note, we had a bit of a laugh at ourselves this morning; my better half pointed out that probably few people would be discussing avian evolution over breakfast! In case you missed it, the National Geographic Magazine has a nice little overview of the current state of understanding, and further rapid progress is anticipated.
Bad News for President Trump: The Comey memos are more revealing than they seem.[Click] “…the facts are likely to get worse—maybe much worse—for Trump. Mueller, remember, doesn’t just know Comey knows. He also has access not only to all the FBI documents and witnesses but also to all the White House documents. He has access as well to all the White House witnesses. He has had all the key White House staff in front of his team. The only one whose story the public has heard so far is Comey. But that does not mean Comey’s story represents a full accounting of the conduct for which Trump will have to answer to Mueller.” “…remember, the memos are boring. The question is how much worse things look when new evidence emerges, and it’s all in one place.”
White Evangelicals, Donald Trump, and the future.[Click] “…white evangelicals’ bargain with Trump is better understood as a desperate deal born of anxiety in the face of a changing nation than as a fulfillment of their aspirations.” …”During the sea change in cultural attitudes over the last decade, white evangelical Protestants were also losing demographic ground, dropping from 23 percent of the population in 2006 to 15 percent of the population in 2017. Most of the declines in the overall evangelical population have come from young people…”
1970? Wasn't that, like, just a few years ago? No, wait. This is... What year is it again?
Actually, I'm not *really* being a smart ass. I too have difficulty grasping that we're in the second decade of the Twenty-first Century. The '70s don't seem all that long ago. Then again, I am not President of the United States and my tenuous grasp on reality does not endanger the entire nation or the world.
Water been sheeting over the bridge for four days after the first highwater/rush flood. Cooter showed a bit before midnight, scoped it out, and said that the culverts were filled with rock. Upshot, we called Elmer around noon he came out and took a look and promised to show with his endloader on Monday. Also, the new uproad neighbor came down to clear culverts, blessum, but this is an unusual event. No people/pick/shovel power was gonna fix this one.
Bill, I am super proud of your Senator. To think, the things I worked for 40 years ago, as a La Leche League Leader are finally coming to reality. Amazing.
We made it there and back again, and are very glad we went.
Now we are delightfully overrun with granddaughters through tomorrow and one staying on through Tuesday. Then clean house upstairs and down for a meeting and a carpet repair guy coming, all on Wednesday.
Thursday is Tai Chi and resting. Friday a group meeting. I'll survive, but only if I get to bed right now! Ha!

It was--about 4" in about two hours. 4" is definitely a flood, but rolling big rocks is a whole other thang. Bless the guys with the endloaders.
