Have a friend who's beaten non-Hodgkin's lymphoma three times. It just returned two months ago, she didn't make it this time. I could hear the fear in her voice, she would not be cheered. She'd just barely gotten to retire. Damn, damn, damn.
Damn for sure. I thought the prognosis had improved quite a bit in recent years, but statistics mean NOTHING in a particular case. And to be fearful--oh, oh, oh.
Most of the blisters have stopped weeping. Maybe all by now. That's definite progress, especially as it make it a bit easier to stand up and walk. But the whole area is still very red and nasty looking, and the leg and foot are a bit swollen, so there's still as way to go.
Not to mention the tiredness. I had a four or five hour nap this afternoon (depending on how you count that last hour of dozing and thinking), in addition to a full 8-1/2 hours last night. Doesn't exactly contribute to getting things done.
Bill, I think you really ought to see a medico. It honestly sounds like a bacterial infection (I am thinking specifically of staph aureus), and you sure as the dickens don't want it to progress to cellulitis--that's a mandatory hospital stay with IV antibiotics. Just sayin'.

ReplyDeleteI stand by my opinion that Mr. Grijalva would be an outstanding Democratic Vice Presidential candidate.

Sort of hate to go that route as long as it's getting better. The picture in my mind is of the rash being totally gone by the time of the appointment.
