I've made a weighted blanket for my daughter and one of my twin granddaughters. Today I'll be working on the third weighted blanket for her sister. I made a weighted lap pad for my youngest grandson because he's a real little jitterbug. I now have a sewing room which, in addition to being a poster child for disorganization and mess, has a floor sprinkled with poly-pellets. Those are largely from my first attempt where I followed directions and had a lot of spillage. I've since done it "my way" and I hardly spill any beads.
One of the blogs I read on occasion has the banner heading "My soul is fed with needle and thread", and I find that to be true for me as well. It's not only a hobby and a happy activity, it's one way I can make a difference in this world. When I can't get into the sewing room on a daily basis I tend to get a bit twitchy.
I suspect he's got an endemic deficit composed of a disconnect between his cognitive forebrain and the reptilian brain where the hormones rule. There is a disconnect and there is a dearth of information processing. He gets along on the automatic stuff -- hearing, speech, imitation and exploitation.

via Liane in Vermont: Special Election: Wisconsin Senate District 10, which went +17 for trump has flipped! Congratulations to the new democratic state senator, Patty Schachtner!
"Schachtner is the sort of candidate who can actually defeat GOP incumbents in red congressional districts this fall. She has deep roots in the community, and she is not a fire-breathing liberal.
Her campaign focused not on attacking Trump but fighting the opioid crisis, improving access to health care and bringing good-paying jobs to the region. She didn’t need to talk about the president to benefit from an outpouring of progressive energy and conservative apathy."
Schachtner told the AP her formula for victory was straightforward: “My message has always been be kind, be considerate and we need to help people when they’re down. We just need to be kind to people who are less fortunate and just help.”
Wonderful pic, listener!! :)

This is from the Washington Post, but seems not to be behind their paywall:
