    2. So, Flynn has officially turned state's evidence.{ ! } Brian Ross says that Flynn let it be known that candidate Trump told him to contact Russia. I'd like to know the context around that, but if it's related to the meeting Flynn had with a Russian official in which they discussed President Obama's sanctions, while Barack Obama was still President, that's a huge offense. Flynn has decided to plead guilty and cooperate with Mueller. This is, as we have noted, SUCH good news!

The one catch is that DT has a disorder which causes him to be unable to back down, resign or admit wrong. In fact, as his situation deteriorates he is more and more likely to lash out or go ballistic. Please God that he not figure out how to go nuclear.

  2. Here is an interesting article on Empathy and Empaths!

"Researchers have discovered a specialized group of brain cells that are responsible for compassion. These cells enable everyone to mirror emotions, to share another person’s pain, fear, or joy. Because empaths are thought to have hyper-responsive mirror neurons, we deeply resonate with other people’s feelings. How does this occur? Mirror neurons are triggered by outside events. For example, our spouse gets hurt, we feel hurt too. Our child is crying; we feel sad too. Our friend is happy; we feel happy too. In contrast, psychopaths, sociopaths, and narcissists are thought to have what science calls “empathy deficient disorders.” This means they lack the ability to feel empathy like other people do, which may be caused by an under-active mirror neuron system. We must beware of these people because they are incapable of unconditional love."

    1. Read it. Weep. Get angry. Pray until you are clear inside. Then prepare the revolution.

    2. The Democratic candidates' campaign ads will write themselves. Anything passed 51:49 can be undone the same way. And it will up the ante for the budget bill, which needs 60 votes.

listener said: "No jostling allowed for 6 weeks."
I read: "No jousting allowed for 6 weeks." That's easy--my war horse is in having a well deserved vacation. And I don't plan to butt heads with anyone. Thanks for reporting your experience, listener. Did the floaters go away? My ophthalmologist said they don't so much go away--the brain learns to ignore them.

    3. "my war horse is in having a well deserved vacation." should have read:

    4. Well, Alan, you might want to fly your horse home and saddle up, because tire's going to be a Revolution.
It can wait 5 or 6 weeks though.

I'm sorry to report that your ophthalmologist is correct (I almost said, "spot on" ~ boo!). It took abut two years for my initial spots to soften out. The second eye's spots were integrated MUCH faster than the first. For a long time it felt like I had a veil of lace hanging in front of my eye (then eyes).

  4. Well, I am glad you all aren't all down in the dumps. As we might have learned from the marriage licenses for the same gendered kerfuffle, there is a big difference between not providing any "benefit" ( e.g. the recording of domestic partnerships) and depriving some groups or individuals or, for that matter, taking that service away entirely. The legislators who think they can strip medical/health care from people who have saigned up and paid in are going to discover what property rights and deprivation of rights under color of law really mean. Viaitors and residents have rights, just like citizens. Indeed, citizens have obligations which the other don't. But the Constitution says that ALL PERSONS within its jurisdiction are to be served. Of course, the deprived have to resist. Let the fun begin!

  5. I laughed out loud at this line, in the article you posted on Food Choices, Alan:

His lifestyle seems pulled from a question on a medical-school exam where the answer is “prepare the cath lab.”
