I just read the article Alan posted on the last thread, written by Donna Brazile. It is criminal they way the DNC treated Bernie! To think of this being told to him just a few weeks before the election, really breaks one's heart. And that good man went forward and tried to get HRC elected, because he knew how bad DT would be. Bernie deserves to be in the White House. I'm glad the truth is coming out. And I'm FURIOUS!!!

    1. I have been cogitating about that book, and also about the reports that while individual Democratic candidates (particularly new ones) are raking in contributions (even in "Republican" districts) the DNC is falling way behind the RNC. Reportedly big donors are turning the DNC down, and their letters aimed at the small donors are not doing well either. They just fired their head fundraiser. What if the new person should be just as ineffective as the previous one? Might that tell them something? Could this be the way renewal comes? The DNC as it currently exists withers away, and is taken over by people who owe the DNC nothing? The general feeling that something is very wrong at the DNC must be the reason they have trouble raising money; Donna Brazile's book could accelerate and amplify the process. Maybe the state organizations could become stronger.

    2. Every email that came to me from the DNC was about Republicans. They were peddling fear and antagonism. We weren't buying.

    3. I'm always somewhat bemused when a report like this refocuses attention on something we already knew: that the Hillary primary campaign controlled the DNC and that the Hilary Victory Fund was essentially a money-laundering scheme that never benefited the state organizations it was supposed to be for. The one thing new is that there was a formal Joint Fundraising Agreement giving HRC control in return for a bit of money from the fund.

From another article I learn that the Fund was essentially based on big-ticket fundraisers aimed at people who had already maxed out their legal contributions to the Clinton primary campaign. The DNC says there was somehow a similar agreement with Bernie's campaign, but Bernie's fundraising manager retorts that the DNC never made any move to set up such fundraisers for him. And how many big, big donors did Bernie have, anyway?

    1. I didn't make that one. Just bought it at an Antique Market and dressed it up a bit. It's only 5" deep and has no room divisions, but it just spoke to me. I put it on the mantle over the fireplace.

  4. This Cheetolini crap is ruining my health! I blame him for my shingles and my insomnia and my knee problems too! When I went to the Dr. she said first: Shingles and second: Stress. Oh yeah, I've got that from several sources!

I get so mad at their callous thievery and their robbing the poor to further enrich the already bloated wealthy. Did none of them ever study the French Revolution or Russia? Are they just entitled enough to think it can't happen here? They might as well come out and say openly that they want us all to die, because that's what they're working toward. Curse them forever.

  5. We have DT on one side, ruining every thing he touches, and we have HRC on the other, both of them with exaggerated ideas of their own entitlement!! I would say, "So where does that leave the average voter?!" But I know the answer. We still need Bernie in the White House because he's real and human and honest. Have we already slipped too far to make a comeback? At least 'The Truth Will Out' still seems to be case.

I hear you, Susan. What a time of stress we are in!! Things keep coming at us one right after the other. This time we live in doesn't give a body much breathing room. I think we have more reasons than ever before for a good old fashioned mutiny. Dean, then Bernie, and we need more people willing to stand up and lead.

Elizabeth Warren agrees HRC rigged the election.

    1. Yeah, but Elizabeth still ignored calls to endorse Bernie and hopped up on stage in her matching blue pantsuit to cheer on Hillary. A woman Elizabeth *knows* to be an inveterate corporate-lover and against every safeguard Elizabeth has ever proposed. Warren betrayed all of us and diminished herself terribly in the process. Very much like General Kelly has debased himself in support of Cheetolini.

    2. Yes, I was not happy that she didn't endorse Bernie. They would have made a great Pres/VP team. But she bowed to the "it's Hillary's turn" thing. I wonder how all the "I'm with her" people are feeling today. I will say it gives my heart peace to know without shadow of doubt and now with proof that we were right to stick with Bernie. Oh that he had simply run as an Independent. I'm wishing we had a NO Party system.

  6. So, of course, DT will use this as his latest diversion from the crap he's unleashing.

We need good hearted people who want to serve this nation, not themselves!!

  7. Susan, what's the latest on your shingles?

Oh, forgot to mention that I got a call on Thursday from my pharmacist. She did some digging for me for info on the new shingles vaccine. I needed to know if one has to wait 4-6weeks to be able to take the vaccine (which would leave me out). Turns out you only have to go off your anti-viral medication for 24 hours to be able to get the vaccine! Unfortunately, you can't go back onto the anti-viral med for two weeks afterward. =SIGH= Well, they're getting closer, anyway.

    2. I am thinking of you constantly, Susan...especially as I have some sort of flareup on the same temple that once had shingles. I think it's a combination of the cold I have and having had a flu shot yesterday, but it feels uncomfortable enough that it reminds me of the long haul I had with shingles in that location. May you have all good news on the 17th!! 💖

    3. Thank you. I was going through my bookmarks and just happened to check. I seem to remember a couple of years ago the site went moribund. After coming back to Georgia in 2009, I continued to focus on national stuff until 2014 when the local ecene became intolerable. There are some who predict Georgia could turn blue in the next general election, if we just stuff the ballots with dems. When dems don't field candidates, Republicans win in their primaries. At least the ambition bug bit Kingston, the former head of the Republican "theme team," and he got retired. The governor is term limited and Democrats have a dinamo, Stacey Abrams, on tap.

    4. I went to sleep about 4 a.m. last night. Usually I'm in bed about 1 or 2, then get up around 4 for dinner before going back to bed (something about Marc's schedule leads Penny to think that's an appropriate dinner time). But last night I was so into skinning through the rest of Yoon Ha Lee's quasi-military fantasy "The Raven Stratagem" that I couldn't stop. I finished about the time Penny brought dinner up. (Tacos accompanies by a nice Heller Bock from Trader Joe's. Trader Joe's house-brand beers are very good.)

  10. Mike Allen: “While many Democrats wish it weren’t so, Hillary Clinton just won’t go away. First it was her regret-and-resentment tour. Then the book. And now a rolling wave of 2016 recriminations.”

The "New Democrats" aren't going down without a fight, even if they are far past their use-by date, and even if they know that. They cling desperately to their illusion of power. They richly deserve to be treated the same way they treated the New Dealers. IMO.

  11. Thanks for that, Alan. Luckily, I'm a Zantac gurl.

Ranitidine (Zantac) is a H2 receptor blocker related to Tagamet, Pepcid and Axid, whereas Prilosec is a proton pump inhibitor (or PPI) related to Prevacid, Aciphex and Protonix.

    1. I thought it might be of interest to someone here other than myself, puddle. Generic Zantac for me, too. Definitely more effective than Tums. I had heard that there were other problems with Proton Pump Inhibitors, but this should make the PPI manufacturers very unhappy. Awwwwww. I suspect that they are expensive, and of course something that patients take continually, so a real money maker.

    2. Ya. Prilosec was what they sent me home with after the myotomy. Used that up, and reverted to the Ranitidine. Because the surgery can't ever get that junction quite as tight as mother nature, acid regurge is always a problem. So *something* was always gonna be in my future.

    1. Yes, but I read something to the effect that the Judge went easier on Bergdahl *because* of Cheetolini's raving about him, and apparently said so in the courtroom.

"I am completely unaffected by any opinions President Trump may have about Sgt. Bergdahl," the judge said. He added that prosecutors had convinced him that the Trump comments won't put "an intolerable strain" on the public perception of military courts."

      Delete
  14. From another article: "Bergdahl was a frequent target for Trump on the campaign trail. Trump has repeatedly called him a traitor and in 2015 suggested that Bergdahl "should be shot." The president alluded to those remarks just two weeks ago, on the day Bergdahl pleaded guilty. That led to a motion to dismiss from Bergdahl's defense lawyers, saying their client could not receive a fair sentence because of Trump's influence."

I find it amazing that a 5-time draft dodger would have the brass ones to express that opinion. As if he would have *any* way to know what the military experience is really like. Plus I hate him.

    1. I love that there was real consideration of dismissing the case because of DT's big mouth. I am also moved that the judge didn't give the guy jail time, given that he was held captive for 5 years.
