The Sierra Nevada snowpack is about twice "normal" and melting fast. High river flows are predicted into June and even July. Foolish people are getting themselves drowned playing in the rivers. Anybody care to go rafting on a fast-flowing river in a kiddie swimming pool without life jackets? (Yes, it happened a couple of days ago.)
