Resistance

Here, at the very site where Bernie launched his Presidential campaign . . . a little sidewalk message:

  1. Bernie is First.

Bernie never stopped working for us. He has been there every single day.

Meanwhile, look who's a day late and a dollar short (which reads as a woeful understatement):

    1. Yes, supposedly she's trying to set up a PAC. Given her money laundering ways when she claimed she was raising money for state parties I wouldn't trust her as far as I could throw her.

    2. It occurs to me that accepting money from said PAC could be the kiss of death for a candidacy.

    3. I don't like the "resistance" meme. It sounds too much like the Trump-focussed negative message that was a major factor in Hilary's loss. We need to focus positively on what we stand for (e.g., healthcare for all -- which, ironically, Trump has just said is better than what we have).

    4. Bill, I don't think of Resistance as having a negative connotation at all. I see it as a rallying cry to stand together and be strong, which to me translates to hope for the future. It is a very positive message!

    5. Spot on, Alan!!

And Susan...my mother used to use that same trust phase. :-)

    6. Interesting how the same word can have different connotations to different people. To me, you resist an external force, which is quite different from pushing ahead on your own chosen path.

  2. Alan! Thanks for commenting a few weeks ago that the strawberries were coming ripe, but to wait two weeks to buy some because those would be sweeter. You were so correct! They're yummy now! :-)

    1. The first ones are biggest, but neither as sweet nor as flavorful as the later ones. Is the first maple sap different from what comes later?

P.S.: The expression re trust as I always heard it was "I wouldn't trust [him] as far as I could throw a bull by the tail." Hmmm....which for some reason reminds me of the column Mark Twain wrote for the Virginia City (Nevada) newspaper in which he recounts an altercation he had on the street with another resident: "Firmly thrusting my nose between his teeth, I threw him to the ground on top of me."
