Brothers Xander and Zephyr are two of our town clerk's horses! I have two photographs hanging at the Town Hall through March, as part of the exhibit "Motion."
That creature in the lead is obviously a dragon (and the color would indicate from the north); note that its hooves are not touching the ground. Dead giveaway.
I have a vague recollection of a chinese story about a fellow who encounters someone either riding on , or in a carriage pulled by, a very big horse. Noticing that the horse's hooves do not touch the ground, he realized it was actually a dragon that had assumed the shape of a horse. How the rest of the story proceeded I do not recall.
Zounds!

I won't be flying, but you knew that. I'll be taking the train tonight for Boston and a science fiction convention there. Be back a week from today.
ReplyDeleteAnd flying or running on rails, Howard is still up front.
I always take it the "Zounds" equals a Howard firstie, lol!
ReplyDeleteThat is the intention; an inside reference such as lashing one's camel to a telephone pole. The NSA probably won't understand it...
