My pleasure, Cat. I miss Pogo--but without Walt Kelly it couldn't be the same. I remember the closing strip, with Pogo poling his scow off into the distance, although I don't recall the caption. And much of the commentary remains valid today, because the same basic problems are with us. Hell, the Know Nothings are still with us, albeit somewhat updated. And good, decent people are also still with us.
Nothin' much out of the ordinary here. Plenty of work at work, but not overwhelming. I am hoping Thursday will be more or less average, which is quite possible. Next week may be demanding, what with the minions of the law making an extra effort to apprehend the bibulous. This weekend I work at the hospital, so will be alert for drunk drivers on my way. It seems there must be just enough nighttime cloud cover to prevent fog in the mornings, which is good when driving, although fog helps to preserve soil moisture. I really do like the Pilot Vanishing Point fountain pen Santa brought me--it is darn near perfect for my work. But I carry my father's Parker 51 at home.
Howard is the apple of our eyes.
ReplyDeleteIndeed he is. Well said, Bill.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Pogo quotes on the last thread, Alan. They gave me quite a laugh.

Nothing much doing where I am, which suits me just fine.
