  1. Hallo from Bernie HQ!
So far we are in a tiny two room office, 4th floor, no A/C, one wall red brick. I have been opening and sorting donations. wOOt!
They're on the lookout for contributions ending in .16 signifying Deaniacs! :-)

    1. Wish I'd know that when I made my contribution. But I'll probably be making other contributions later.

  2. Just ordered some Postum from The Vermont Country Store. Never tried it before and looking forward to it. Also got a jar of original, European Ovaltine, which they say has less sugar than American.

    1. My Dad was a Postum drinker. Think he still missed his coffee though.

    2. I tried Postum way, way back when. Don't believe I particularly cared for it, though. And these days I definitely want the caffeine.

  3. You would LOVE HQ!! So far we are in a TINY two room office, 4th floor, no A/C, one wall is red brick…and a dozen people working elbow to elbow. I walked in and was immediately given a bin of envelopes that had been slit open and found myself opening and sorting donations!! Ha! I love that I didn't even have to give them my ID first. Sweet to be trusted like that. Really good people.

All I knew to find the office was the address. I got there and it's just a number "110" on an outside door. I go in and there's no signage, but I know to go up to the 4th floor. I go up to the 4th floor and there's no signage there either. A few lawyers' offices and whatnot. And as I'm walking along the hallway, I notice one room with people crammed into it working hard. It just felt like a campaign office. And sure enough, there on the glass of the door is a single "Bernie for Senate" bumper sticker…!!!

I spoke with Nick as he and another guy were leaving. I heard someone ask someone else where they went and she said they went to see "our new place."

So I suspect the current office is temporary and that after Bernie' formal announcement on the 26th, there will be a larger space. We'll see.

Speaking of the Announcement, I was asked today if I would help set up for the event, and help at it. Yeah!! It's so cool to be in on the "ground floor" of this campaign (even though it's on the 4th floor. LOL!).

If you're interested in helping, you might want to go to Bernie.org and sign up to volunteer in your area. They're going to connect people soon.

I met Nick Carter, who is in charge of the Campaign, Sam who is the person in charge of volunteers, Chris who is an older (than me) woman who seems to know her way around campaigns, experientially. I think she looks familiar and suspect we once put together Meet Up packets for the Dean Campaign! I worked mostly with Sara today. Can't wait to go back!

My Bernie tee shirt arrives on Tuesday! :-D

    1. Can I put on a fourth volunteer hat? Can I put on a fourth volunteer hat even though my regular work is finally winding down to the irregular part-time work I'm supposedly getting paid for? [sigh] No, I'm afraid not.

It's too bad us old folks need sleep.

  4. YAY! I have finally memorized "The Red Flag" sung to the tune of "The White Cockade," as the author intended, rather than to the tune known to Americans as "O Tannenbaum." I had the devil's own time unlearning the latter and truly learning the former, but intermittent practice singing along with a CD going to work finally did the trick. This evening I could both sing and whistle it perfectly, without digressing into some other tune. I have conditioned myself to use the more common tune ("O Tannenbaum") for parodies. (The people's flag is palest pink, it's not the colour you would think...)

Sounds like good clean fun, listener! Much better than shooting the TV. Currently rather short of disposable cash, but that should improve next week. How do they accept contributions? Mail only? PayPal? Credit card over the Inner Tubes? All of those? $XX.16 it is.
