You keep posting such interesting things, and I have so little visual acuity by the time I pop 'round here that I keep putting off reading more than is on the blog. Keep posting; I'll get there.
The link is to a TED presentation; maybe I will have to look into those. The author's position is not accepted by academics in general, but the Indus Vally Script has been such a contentious issue for so long that is hardly any wonder. I found arguments that early Indian writing systems were derived from Aramaic or other languages with cultural significance to 19th-Century europeans are still being taken seriously by some, which seems rather bizarre. While poking around among related things, I happened upon a suggestion that the Voynich Manuscript might be a written example of glossolalia (or outsider art). That strikes me as a very plausible suggestion, although the form seems both unusual and extreme. --Alan
I came by to blog and wondered how many more front page setups I made. So I peeked and it turned out today's was the last one set! So, now we're all set through May Day! :-)
Heading Deanward!
