I was up to 4 a.m. "last night" doing the final proofing before deadline. Slept until nearly noon. Basically plan to take it easy today, although there is one thing that needs to get done. The next deadline is effectively May 26 and -- although I can't convince my client -- I see no real reason we couldn't be done weeks earlier.
Highs all this week forecast for mid to upper 40s. I even saw a 52 in there somewhere. Loverly! In jeans and flannel shirt today, and I feel almost naked without flannel or polar tek lined pants and polar tek lined shirt or heavy woolen sweater. No doubt the cold will be back, but the mild weather is very nice for now.
Furnace repairman was out this morning, basically while I was still asleep (although I heard him ring the doorbell). The furnace went out and had to have the "reset" button pushed Saturday and again yesterday. Apparently the igniter was going bad and had to be replaced. Seems like ours didn't last the usual 5 years.
The temp hit 49F here today, and 50F in Burlington! It sure has cheered up folks. :-)
I started an oil painting today. It is going to be a closeup of Irises: dark purple, yellow and light purple against a mottled gray background. I got the background done and have a fan on it to dry it ASAP so I can get going on the flower petals. It feels so good t be messing about with oils again!! I use the water-soluble oils.
Howard's firstiest this warm rainy spring day! (snow banks or no snow banks, lol!)

ReplyDeleteDo take it easy, Bill. I know how lousy staying up like that makes a person feel.
DeleteAfter my usual hour-and-a-half afternoon nap I feel pretty decent. Not particularly ambitious, but that's OK.
